Practical information
Akureyri is the
largest town outside the Reykjavik area with approximately 15,000 inhabitants.
There are ca 450 km between Reykjavik and Akureyri, about five hours drive or 45
minute plane ride with four to six flights per day all year around.
Akureyri is
the center of education, trade and services in Northern Iceland. Its rich
cultural life is also well known. Wide variety of activities in Akureyri and
the surrounding districts are available to conference guests, including:
museums, the Botanical gardens, excellent swimming pools, golf courses,
horseback riding, jeep excursions, boat trips etc.

When arriving in Iceland you land at the International airport in Keflavik, 45
min. drive from Reykjavik. There is a fly bus to Reykjavik in connection with
every flight, the fare is ISK 1.000.- (EUR 12.-) and the first stop is at the
terminal at Hotel Loftleidir. Inform the driver of the name of your hotel or if
you are going to the domestic airport.
